I founded Boyfriend in 2009 after a break up with my real life boyfriend. I missed his scent! But I particularly missed his fragrance on my skin, on my clothing and the memory of that magical combination of him and me. I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we all could have that feeling, whether you’re in a relationship or not? Wouldn’t it be great if we had a Boyfriend in a bottle? So then I went about developing the original Boyfriend fragrance, so that women everywhere could enjoy the cozy, delicious feeling of love... whether they are in a relationship or not.

With top notes of night blooming jasmine & juicy plum, Boyfriend opens up into layers of warm vanilla, tears of benzoin, a hint of patchouli and finally heats up on your skin with a touch of musk [synthetic] & golden amber. Boyfriend launched in the fall of 2010 and was an immediate hit, selling out in 20 minutes on HSN! Boyfriend quickly rose to be in the top 20 fragrances when we launched in all of Sephora’s North American stores in early 2011, holding its own against luxe fragrances, such as Chanel and Marc Jacobs.

From fragrance creation to product and packaging design, to the writing, directing and shooting all the Boyfriend webmercials, I was involved in every aspect of the brand. It was my dream to get Boyfriend to my fans around the world. But in 2015, as the demands of owning a retail beauty brand became too much to handle independently, I put Boyfriend on pause.

However, the hiatus was short lived! Over these past couple years, I have received non-stop inquiries from fans, so I decided to bring back Boyfriend. But this time, on my own terms and without the pressures of a retail partner. In 2017, I teamed up with Digital Media Management to re-launch the Boyfriend brand by selling direct to my fans and fans of the scent. This way, I have more control over testing new products and truly building a demand-based business, while also exploring wholesale partnerships from other product vendors.

To get Boyfriend loyalists excited about the forthcoming relaunch of the original fragrance, the brand successfully expanded into homegoods in Summer 2017, with the launch of the Boyfriend-scented candle. The return of the original Boyfriend fragrance relaunched in May 2018 and is now available exclusively on
